Count calories. Being aware of the number of calories you consume each day is important, as it is the main factor in whether or not you will lose weight. By keeping your calories at maintenance level or less, and losing calories through exercise, you’ll be fit in no time.
If so, consider another option. Biking is a great way to get into shape, too. Riding a bike to your destination is a fun, easy and cheap way to get in a workout. A car ride of 5 miles should take fewer than 30 minutes to bike, and riding to and from work gives you two workout sessions.
Do ab exercises other than crunches. Through university studies, it has been shown that 250,000 crunches only burns a pound of fat. Thus, crunches alone are clearly insufficient. Add other moves to your abdominal routine, as well.
One way to quickly build up strength in your legs is to do “wall sits.” Find a place that is large enough for your body. Start about a foot and a half away from the wall, with your back towards the wall. You need to lean back and bend your knees against the wall. Keep bending your knees and place yourself in a sitting crouch along the wall with thighs and ground parallel to each other. Hold this position until you cannot stand it anymore.
Some good advice is to by well-fitting shoes. Your feet are biggest in the evening, so this is the best time to shop for shoes. Buy shoes that fit your feet with a 1/2 inch amount of space between your big toe and the shoe. You need to be able to move your toes comfortably.
If you wish to have better health and more fitness, a plan is required when you begin. The ideas in the article above can help you develop the correct fitness plan. If you get lost along the way, don’t be discouraged. This advice will point you in the right direction.
